I purchased these with the idea that they might be good for wedding centerpieces. I decided that they are much more beautiful hanging up in my backyard. They charged very quickly, and shine perfectly bright. The light adds just the right amount of ambiance to make an ordinary barbecue very romantic. These are perfect. What a clever idea for a solar panel lid! Turns a regular mason jar into a magical fairy light. I put clear marbles in the jars first to weigh them down, added the lids and lined them up on my front porch. They hold a nice charge for most of the night after a sunny day. Of course, if you have all day cloudiness, they will not light until you get a sunny day to recharge them. The trade-off to me is worth it. No batteries to replace.
Don't know how long they will last but worth a try. These are exposed to the weather. This seller is extremely responsive and caring. I had a problem with some of my original order and they responded to fix it. HIGHLY recommend!

User Manual:
1. There is an insulating sheet under the lid, please remove it before use, and then open the lid of the switch can be used.
2. Lights will be fully charged in the sun and will automatically light up at dusk.
3.Screw on the lid with your mason jar,hung it anywhere you like,suggest under the direct sunlight.
4.The insert and lid can be take apart for DIY,such as put the solar string lights insert for other something which you want.

FAQ:
Question: Does it still light up if the battery is removed?
Answer: No.Please do not removed the battery. 
Question: Do the jar lids have to be in direct sunlight?
Answer: No but when you first receive it you might want to leave it out in the sun light for a day or less because the lid is solar so that gives it energy to light it up. After that you can take it inside and you just have to turn it on under the lid. 
Question: What is the overall length of these including the handle? I need to know how long they are when they are hanging.
