US-based distillery Dancing Goat has quadrupled its whiskey production capacity with its 17,000-square-foot expansion.

The space is located in Cambridge, Wisconsin, and originally spanned 17,000 square feet.

The expansion has doubled the distillery footprint to 34,000 square feet.

The project initially begun in 2021 and concluded in July this year, boasting its first open-air rick house, which holds more than 6,000 barrels.

The expanded site comprises three 6,000 gallon open-top fermenters. A spirits vault and gin academy have also been built.

On-site bottling of Dancing Goat’s Limousin Rye whiskey can now take place, plus production for both Death’s Door Gin and Wisconsin-aged Dancing Goat Brandy.

The producer will continue to extend its range of limited edition products.

Guest tour experiences include a public tour, to learn the journey of the spirit from grain, costing US$10 per person; a public tour plus guided tasting, costing US$20 per person; and the gin academy experience, where guests are invite to make their own 750ml bottle of gin to take home during a three-hour experience.

Jim Beam owner Beam Suntory recently revealed plans to invest more than US$400 million to expand the Booker Noe Distillery in Kentucky.
