The container kings of THIELMANN announced late last year that it would be adding two new product categories to its beer portfolio. The company is known for its steely storage units like kegs and portable tanks, but it also just started selling static processing equipment. THIELMANN’s first two categories of processing vessels are for the beer industry in the form a 1/2-bbl size yeast storage keg and a small 590- to 1,200-L beer fermentation tank.

The new THIELMANN Yeast Brink Kegs are, of course, manufactured using high-quality stainless steel and offer rough-brewery-worthy durability. If you don’t know, yeast storage tanks are a great way to host yeast between beer fermentation batches in a keg. THIELMANN touts its Yeast Bring Kegs provide a hygienic, convenient, safe and tough containment solution for the storage and transportation of yeast until it is ready to be pitched into a new batch of beer.

These handy Yeast Brink Kegs are available in a 1/2-bbl size and are built to standard 6-bar (87-psi) test pressure and 3-bar (43.5-psi) working pressure. These kegs also come with a 4-in. tri-clamp neck and blind cap, as well as a choice of flexible customization options including swapping out the stainless-steel bottom tri-clamp to a plastic one.

The new THIELMANN Beer Fermenter is a similarly steely vessel but designed for beer fermentation, boasting an insulated TIG welded interior which can be either acid passivated or polished to a mirror finish depending on your requirements, so consider your requirements. Fermentation of course produces heat, so the outer and inner tank is constructed using high-quality AISI304 stainless steel and features a glycol cooling jacket. Together, the quality steel and glycol cooling performance help maintain lower lagering temperatures and save energy.

These Beer Fermenters are designed for use up to a working pressure of 1.5 bar or 22 psi.

Both the new Yeast Brink Kegs and Beer Fermenters are made of AISI304 stainless steel construction, which boast excellent corrosion resistance, long life span, resistance to UV light and a good residual value for recycling. Stainless steel also touts low thermal conductivity, which in the case of those yeast kegs, helps to keep the temperature of the yeast stable between beer fermentation batches.
